Affogato Cache

Affogato has a built-in cache. When this is activated, Affogato writes files to the cache location and then (optionally) copies them to their final designated location.

This can help with network and disk issues, as it makes sure data gets written back and send over a network in large chunks, rather than small snippets.

Directory

The location of the cache

Size (GB)

The size in gigabytes (not gibibytes) of the cache.

When the cache exceeds this size, Affogato starts deleting the oldest files from the cache (using the date the file was last written to).

This is done once at the end of each frame, before the actual rendering of the frame starts.

Write To

If this is checked the resp. type of file is written to the cache location.

Source From

If this is checked, the reps. type of file is referenced from the cache location.

Copy Back From

If this is checked, Affogato copies the resp. files of the type back from the cache location to their designated final location.

Warning: this is currently not implemented and requires an external program to interpret JobEngine .xje files, generated by Affogato, to work thus
